I was at the screening of Forgotten Ellis Island and it was a thrill to visit the place where my relatives came through as well as watch your film which reminded me
of how the immigration debate continues to rage in this country--whether about southern or eastern Europeans or Mexicans, we seem to be a nation at odds with our own history. So many of us trace our roots to Ellis Island yet reject immigrants trying to gain citizenship today.

I thought I knew everything there was to know about Ellis Island but your film and book has taught me some fascinating, lost history.
